The countdown is officially on for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The tournament is now less than two years away and, as excitement begins to builld in Russia, an official countdown clock has been unveiled in the city of Kazan.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino was on hand to officially unveil the clock, with the tournament now 565 days away, in a city which will host six games at the 2018 finals.
Kazan is also one of four host cities for next year's Confederations Cup, which will feature Russia, Germany, Chile, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal and the winner of the upcoming African Nations Cup.
The draw for the Confederations Cup is also due to take place on Saturday, with former Arsenal player Julio Baptista the guest of honour at both the draw and the clock launch.
The new clock stands in the city centre, on the Kremlevskaya Embankment, near the its greatest sight – the Kremin - built by order of Ivan the Terrible.
'The whole planet is counting the days to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and now the Republic of Tatarstan can do that in a very special manner,' said FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.
Kazan is one of 11 cities scheduled to host matches at the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on June 14, 2018.
The final will be played at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium July 15.
